Our second baby boy was blessed. Here is the blessing that was given.

Three and a half years ago Peter was blessed at two months old in our chapel in Cedar Hills Utah in front of our ward and with a large circle of priesthood holders that included friends and family.

Theodore got a different and quite unique experience. He was blessed at four and a half months old in my parent's home with only 18 people physically present, and four families participating through a video chat. All of this is because of the COVID-19 pandemic situation. We've been wanting to bless him since March but with lots of new rules about distancing and limited numbers of people, we found ourselves in this strange situation.

However, the works of God will not be halted, and as soon as we could have 20 people present we blessed him.

Andrew blessed him. Here are the words of his blessing.

Our Father in Heaven, by the authority of the Melchizedek priesthood which we hold we come together to give this baby a name and a blessing. The name that he will be known by throughout his life is Theodore Kay Townsend, and at this time we give him a blessing.

Theodore, you are strong, you are smart, and you are patient. We bless you with the ability to carry these traits with you throughout your life, and that you can find new facets of them through your character. We bless you with strength and knowledge and the ability to adapt to many many situations. We bless you that through the natural experience of being a brother, and a younger brother in our home, that you will be a mediator, a communicator and one who can see many angles and we bless you that as you strive to see all sides of the picture and challenge that you will find strength and creative solutions in all of the problems that you face. We also bless you with a knowledge of your heritage both on Earth - with an extensive and strong family line on both your mother and your father's side - and we also bless you with a knowledge of your eternal heritage as a son of God and a sibling in the eternal grand scheme. We bless you with love and promise that you will always find love in your family and in your ward family. And these things we leave upon your head in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
