We were impressed by the scripture "men should be anxiously engaged in a good cause, and do many things of their own free will, and bring to pass much righteousness" (D&C 58:27) We came to the conclusion to start a blog. We hope you enjoy some of our thoughts and feelings.

Trying to put together a few of my memories of my Dad while I still remember them.
The "Come Follow Me" lesson topic for April is The Apostasy and The Restoration. I love the Restoration of the gospel. I love the wonderful feeling of life, and growth, and brightness I get when I think about the Restoration. I think about those wonderful days when I wake up early, and go outside early in the morning and accomplish some great task or have a great experience. Most recently I have risen early to work on movies for school, or gone on hikes, or played Frisbee with friends. On my mission we would run in the thick, wet air of the south, beams of sun lighting up the humidity looking like fairy dust falling from heaven. Each of these experiences are filled with the wonderful feeling of endless possibilities and potential. The day is young, and the world is waiting for us to experience it. In preparation for my lesson coming up this Sunday, a suggested reading came from the Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith. I was greatly moved by some of these pass
I was listening to my music library on shuffle today and the Les Miserables song sung by the character Bishop Myriel came on. For those of you unfamiliar with the story, the hero of the story (Jean Valjean) spends an unruly amount of time in jail for stealing a loaf of bread, and, now out on parole, takes advantage of the good bishop's hospitality and steals some candlesticks. Jean Valjean gets caught by local authorities and is taken back to the bishop's house to verify the accusations of thievery . The bishop tells the men that Valjean was a guest in his home, and that the candlesticks were a gift (made of pure silver), and that Valjean forgot the rest of the gift, and then bestows upon him a whole set of silver dishware. The authorities, baffled, leave Valjean at the bishop's mercy. At this time, the bishop sings this verse: But remember this, my brother See in this some higher plan You must use this precious silver To become an honest man By the witness of the mart
We always lived far enough away from my father's family that when any of them would come over to visit it was always a special treat. One thing that would almost always happen is we would hear great stories about what it was like to grow up on Bacigalupi Dr., racing down Cardboard Hill, or building makeshift explosives, or sending sisters down hills in home-made go-carts. The last several times we've been visited I've had the distinct impression to record these stories and to direct the conversation around my grandfather Danny. Grampa Danny passed away when my dad was only 17 so I have never met him and have a strong interest in who he was. The following is the transcript of when my Uncle Joe and Aunt Lisa came to visit on September 27th, 2017. (If you would like to listen to the original recording you can do so by clicking here [be warned though that it is not a perfect recording]) Andrew: Let me get your thoughts going. Dad tells us of when he and Daniel, um,
